Terms of Use
Plain terms for a private product: what you may expect from us, what we ask of you, and what happens if either of us stops.
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Levan Bakhia (ლევან ბახია), an individual entrepreneur registered in Georgia, operating as inbetween, Akhmeteli st 10a, Tbilisi, Georgia (“we”), about using inbetween — the app at inbetweenyou.com, including when installed to a phone’s home screen, and any later version of it published to an app store. By signing in you accept them, together with the Privacy Policy. If you don’t accept them, please don’t use inbetween.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 16, or older if that is the age of digital consent where you live. inbetween is in a testing phase and is invite-based: you need an invitation from someone already using it, or from us. One account is one person — accounts are not to be shared, because the whole design assumes that the person in a thread is who they say they are.
3. Your account
You sign in with a code sent to your email address; there is no password. Keep access to that mailbox safe, because anyone who has it can reach your account. Tell us at levan@sarke.ge if you think someone else has got in.
4. What you write
What you write stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your messages, show them to you, and send them to the model providers described in the Privacy Policy so inbetween can answer. We do not use what you write to train models, we do not sell it, and we do not show it to other people using inbetween except through the four ways set out in the Privacy Policy and in the app.
5. What inbetween is, and is not
inbetween — the AI you talk to — is a large language model. It is good company for a hard conversation, and it is not a professional. It is not a therapist, a lawyer, a doctor or a mediator in the legal sense, and nothing it says is professional advice. It can be wrong, and it can be confidently wrong. What you tell each other through it is a record of what was said — it is not a contract, and it does not bind either of you in law.
If you are in danger, or in crisis, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line. inbetween is not monitored by people in real time and cannot get help to you.
6. Using it fairly
Please don’t:
- use inbetween to harass, threaten, coerce, stalk or abuse anyone, including the other people in your workspace;
- invite someone in order to extract or record what they say without their knowledge;
- upload or ask inbetween to produce material that is unlawful, or that sexualises children;
- try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or get around its limits, rate limits or spending caps;
- use it to build a competing model or dataset.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where it is safe and lawful to tell you why, we will.
7. Price and plans
Every new account has 14 days to use inbetween without paying, at the limits of the first plan. After that, writing needs a plan — yours, or that of someone you share a workspace with: one person’s plan covers everyone in the workspaces they are in. Without one you can still read everything you and inbetween wrote, and delete your account; nothing of yours is held back.
There are three monthly plans — Talk a little, Talk a lot and Talk all day. They differ in how many messages each person may write in a day, and how many everyone the plan covers may write in a month. The numbers and the price are shown where plans are sold, before you buy. When a month’s number is used up, a few messages a day stay open until the month renews.
A plan bought in the iOS app is sold by Apple and charged to your Apple ID. It renews every month at the same price until you cancel, which you do in your Apple ID’s subscription settings at least a day before it renews; you keep the plan to the end of the month you paid for. Moving up a plan takes effect at once; moving down, at the next renewal. Refunds for App Store purchases are decided by Apple under its own terms. Deleting your inbetween account does not cancel a subscription with Apple — cancel it there first.
We may change prices, or what a plan includes. A change never applies to a month you have already paid for, and you will be told before a higher price is charged, with the chance to cancel instead. Apart from the plans, each workspace has a daily limit on what its conversations may cost us to run; reaching it pauses inbetween until the next day.
8. Changes and availability
This is early software. We change it, and sometimes it will be unavailable. We try to keep what you have written safe through all of that — that is the part we take seriously — but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may stop offering inbetween. If we shut it down, we will give you notice and a way to take your conversations with you.
9. Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from the Me page, and everything we hold for you goes immediately, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may end your use if you break these terms.
10. No warranty
inbetween is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind — including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot be taken away.
11. Limits of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit or data, or for what you or another person decides to do after a conversation in inbetween. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.
12. If you install it from an app store
If you get inbetween from Apple’s App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Your use must follow the App Store Terms of Service. Apple has no obligation to provide support or to handle any claim about the app, and where a claim by a third party says the app infringes their rights, we are responsible for it, not Apple. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. The same goes for any other store we publish through, with its operator in place of Apple.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia. Please write to us first so we can try to sort the problem out. If that fails, the courts of Tbilisi will decide — unless the law where you live gives you, as a consumer, the right to go to your own courts.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Carrying on using inbetween after that means you accept the new version.
